The moment I saw that I was accepted to the one week summer program, YIRLI, at Yale University became one of the greatest memories of my life. It wasn't only my first time being alone abroad, but also the very first time I was going to step into the United States of America. On top of everything, I spent a very productive and unforgettable experience at Yale. As I met with tens of students from all around the world, I gained extremely valuable insight about international relations and diplomacy. The connections we created, memories we lived during a week, and the friendships I gained will forever stay with me.

The best part was obviously the people I met, but the United Nations Headquarters trip was a peak experience too!

I felt most proud of myself when I was at Yale. This feeling was somehow new because I wasn't feeling proud just because my family or friends were proud of me, I was actually feeling proud of myself. Going to Yale for a 1 week summer program wasn’t anything small to me. It meant going to a new country by myself for the first time, being in the US for the first time to me. My hunger and curiosity to see what life is like beyond the bars I have in my country has finally given me something to be excited about!
